Seth's Nightlord/ Nightroad confusion.[]
Seth and Cain's last names are not ever written in English in any of the official Japanese novels or manga. The only book that does have their last names written in English is Trinity Blood: Canon.
I have provided a scan below from Canon detailing Seth's last name. She is NOT Seth "Nightroad," but "Nightlord."
The only official thing published in English that states Seth and Cain's last names are the DVD pamphlets. There are several fundamental problems with this, such as:
1) The animation team (GONZO) or translators at Tokyopop were unaware Seth is genetically unrelated to Cain and Abel. This was because the books were still going at the time and had not yet touched upon this detail, and Trinity Blood: Canon did not exist as Sunao Yoshida was still alive. As such, they probably assumed they were all siblings, and kept the same names for consistency.
2) There are a lot of other spelling mistakes. For example, Isaak "Fernand" is spent as "Fernando," probably because the katakana can be read both ways.
3) It ignores the fact that Cain, Abel and Seth may have been deliberately given different last names as they were created by different people. Cain was created in Germanicus, Abel in Londinium, and Seth in Canada.
